In My Sneakers

When I first started reading blogs I was always so confused when people would talk about their search terms.  Now I realize what they were talking about..and whoever found my blog by searching “in my sneakers” way to go.  I don’t think I’ve ever even said sneakers before?

Workouts: After taking Saturday and Sunday off to be lazy I did some speed work yesterday.  1 mile warm up, 7 x 400’s with a 400 jog in between and 0.75 mile cooldown.  All done on the treadmill.  The first 5 400’s were done at 8.5 or ~7:03 mile pace and the last two at 8.2 or ~7:20 mile pace.   And they were HARD. And painful.  Who needs speed work anyways, for sure my least favorite workouts.  And then today was an easy 5 miles 44:44.

I kept seeing all over twitter today about the women’s health article that quoted a lot of healthy living bloggers.  While it was cool to see the blogs I read daily quoted I wanted to make a point about the article.  Yes working out in the morning can be very helpful and beneficial for a lot of people, it isn’t for everyone! I personally hate waking up early to workout and will usually have a much less productive workout if I force myself too.

Working out in the afternoon or at night is a huge stress reliever for me, helps me break up my day, and I function better trying to do a 5 mile run at 5 at night opposed to 6 am.  I know that isn’t true for everyone but any means but if you prefer to workout in the afternoon or night and it works well for you, don’t feel the need to force yourself to wake up and do it!

What time do you prefer to workout at?

-Mid afternoon is my favorite!

-Here comes 40 days of NO chocolate, or purchasing coffee someone buys me one it doesn’t count 🙂

    I love looking at the search terms! Google eludes me.

    I am totally a morning workout person. I wake up just before 5 am every morning to head to the gym before work. If I don’t workout in the AM, I find ways to convince myself not to.

    Early morning workouts are my FAVORITE…only when I don’t have to go to work. That’s what I LOVE about teaching. 10 more Mondays until 2 months of freedom!! : )
