Blast from the Past

2 Jun

Are you still thinking about joining the challenge?? I think you should 😉

Workout: I ran five miles! This is my longest run post half/hip injury and it felt really, really good.  I forced myself to run slow (*for me*) and easy and took two timed walking breaks.  My hip felt fine the whole time.  In general my legs felt tight but I think that has more to do with the ridiculous strength workout I did last night. I haven’t really done a ton of hard weight/circuit/strength training in awhile and wow am I SORE.

I am going to take it nice and easy tomorrow-maybe some elliptical and upper body weights.  Then either a bike ride/easy 2 miles on Saturday and 5k on Sunday!

No 3 Thing Thursday today because I just don’t really have 3 interesting things worth posting.  What I did find which is worth posting is some of my old race times from grade school/high school.  I started running cross-country in 7th grade and ran until senior year of high school.  I was never the best on the team but never the worst either.  I was the number 2 runner on my grade school team and usually the 3-6 runner on my high school varisity team.  But again..not the best.

So here are some random old times/pictures for you to enjoy.  Ahh the good old days when I had brown hair and could run two 7 minute miles in a row.

(Thats me number 146)

Did you do any sports in grade school/high school? Ever compete in State?
-I only made it to State on year- 8th grade cross country

I only did softball in high school… track for one year and decided I didn’t like running that much. Ironic, right?
